In this Mediterranean-inspired refresh of a young couple's two-level flat situated just blocks from Mission Dolores Park in San Francisco, Plow focused on using a light touch to enhance the existing interiors without making massive architectural changes.
As the project was well underway at the onset of the pandemic and shelter-in-place, the design team shifted their priorities to cultivate a sense of home without displacing the growing family. Finding inspiration from their heritage, we designed the space to be comfortable yet elegant, cozy yet airy.
With more time at home and with the client's private outdoor space being limited, Plow brought the outside in with plant life and cultivated warmth and color in its cold, minimal shell.
The interior was designed with an earthy ethos through the use of soft textures, raw materials, and warm colors through the use of linens, striking natural carved stone, lime paints, leather hardware, and warm oak finishes.

During the project, the client’s family expanded, and with a baby on the way, we pivoted a home office into a light-infused, gender-neutral nursery.
