Forestville Treehouse

Forestville Treehouse

Entering this bright, cozy private residence in Sonoma County, one is enveloped by a vast redwood forest. Inspired by the sun peaking through the canopy of redwoods to play across the forest floor, the treehouse is infused with light via skylights and windows to create a dappled light effect.

Nestled into the redwoods of Sonoma County is the Forestville Treehouse, a cozy two-level weekend residence that Studio Plow modernized and opened up the floor plan to create a whole new experience for the clients. Beyond the cosmetic renovation, there were large structural and architectural elements that Plow shifted in both the exterior and interior of the home.

The original low ceiling was opened to the roof structure above. To give guests and the homeowners a sense of living in the tree tops, skylights were added in the newly vaulted ceiling to capture the breadth of the forest.
