Cord Scrunchie
Cord Scrunchie
Hand-dyed with plants, this one-of-a-kind Cord Scrunchie pairs the dreamy structure of sheer silk organza with the magic of fresh Oxalis. Also known as “Sour Grass,” Oxalis is a wild edible that grows all over Sonoma County in the early spring. On its own, it ranges from an intense, almost neon-yellow to buttery pigment. When modified with iron, Oxalis dyes shift to a beautiful olive or sage green.
Each scrunchie is dyed with fresh foraged Oxalis and then hand modified with ph modifiers, like citric acid and soda ash, to create dappled specks and variations of natural color. Slip the scrunchie over your laptop, lamp, or phone cord to mix a little beauty with the mundane. Lovingly crafted in West Sonoma County by Whimsy Makes.
One-of-a-kind items are final sale.
Natural and fiber-reactive dyes can be described as “living colors.” Each piece is uniquely created and will vary slightly. Some colors may shift or lighten over time as it is exposed to your everyday environment. Store out of direct sunlight for longevity. Hand wash with ph neutral soap like 7th Generation or Laundress and lay flat to dry. We recommend ironing on a low or silk setting.
