Más o Menos

Más o Menos

Venture along Highway 62 on the way to Joshua Tree National Park, and you’ll discover Más o Menos, a captivating oasis that pays homage to desert architecture and its untamed beauty. This wabi-sabi hybrid bar/cafe has become a cherished haven for both locals and wanderers, offering exceptional coffee, libations, and a warm, inviting atmosphere that fulfills a much-needed niche in the region.

Designed by Studio Plow in collaboration with Grain Construction to embody the wabi sabi ethos of Joshua Tree, Más o Menos offers an unexpected cafe/bar refuge for LA vacationers and locals alike. Maintaining the desert’s simplicity and saturation, the design combines bespoke furniture, terracotta, and playful pops of color to create a bustling watering hole off Highway 62 where wayfarers can respite with gourmet coffee, natural wine, or a handcrafted cocktail.

Preserving the original architectural style of the 1952 desert dwelling’s facade, Studio Plow and Grain Construction seamlessly integrated Más o Menos into the desert landscape. Warm terracotta hues, reminiscent of desert sand and vibrant high desert sunrises and sunsets, harmonize throughout the space, fostering a deep connection to the environment.
